That’s how you can use Lightroom on the iPad to edit photos from the Lightroom Classic catalog on your Mac or PC. If you create a Collection in Lightroom Classic and sync it to Lightroom Photos in the cloud, you can use the other Lightroom (non-Classic) to edit those photos on any platform it supports. Lightroom Classic is the only Lightroom product that does DSLR tethering, but it runs only on Mac and Windows. And because of the improvements in iOS 13, Lightroom on iPad works a lot better now with external storage connected to an iPad, such as importing from and exporting to external storage. Lightroom will upload them to Lightroom Photos in the cloud so that you can edit them in Lightroom on any of the platforms listed above, and so Lightroom Classic can download them. Because it’s an Adobe product, Lightroom integrates seamlessly with Photoshop so you can export or import photos between the two image editors. It’s used by hobbyists as well as professionals and is also a photo organizer, RAW file converter and image editor.

The good news is that Sony developed its own free software which serves as a bridge to allow your Sony a7iii to connect and work with Lightroom.Lightroom is available for iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and in a web browser, but Lightroom (non-Classic) does not do tethering at this time. Unfortunately as of now, the Sony a7iii cannot directly connect to tether with Lightroom Classic. It can even help you gain bonus points from clients because clients love to be able to easily see what’s happening as you’re working. Any suggestions on how I might work around this problem. Is anyone else having this problem I am a full time pro photographer and I use tethered capture all the time. It allows you to remotely control your camera and see various grid overlays which are extremely helpful with framing, composition, and stop motions. After upgrading my OS to 11.5.2 on my Macbook Pro, now Lightroom Classic Tethered Capture no longer works. Shooting tethered allows you to see your images in real time on a much larger screen than just on a small viewfinder or LCD. If you haven’t already tried shooting tethered, it’s a great tool to take advantage of and it’s useful for all kinds of photography. Since I struggled trying to figure out how to connect my camera, I thought there could be other Sony photographers who could use some help to get connected too. I couldn’t figure out why my camera wouldn’t tether, but after lots of Googling, troubleshooting, and patience, I was finally able to get my camera connected. When I first attempted to tether my Sony a7iii with Lightroom, I darn near wanted to pull my hair out.
